Such Mystery how it all happens.
They received the Word of God. Acts 11:2.
They were men with resolute hearths to remain true to the Lord; Acts 11:23. Full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And God gives us an example of what this looks like in Acts 12:2. John, one of the sons of Zebedee. Herod moved to vex him and killed him with the sword. That's not what John's mom wanted for him. Remember when John's mom asked for her two sons to sit next to Jesus. Her son moved on to wrestle with the truth. He received the Word. Oh, may we wrestle well with receiving the Word. PRAYER FROM PSALMS
Psalm 119:105 ~ Your Word is a lamp for my feet. May I look down to see the path You have for me and stay close. Your Word is a light on my path. May I have the courage to take the next step forward, even when I fall backwards a step or two. Amen.

The Word of God - brings wholeness and freedom; it pierces our very marrow, it is alive and active when proclaimed in truth and boldness with love.
ReplyDeleteThe news about them reached the ears of the church at Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas off to Antioch. Then when he arrived and witnessed the grace of God, he rejoiced and began to encourage them all with resolute heart to remain true to the Lord; for he was a good man, and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And considerable numbers were brought to the Lord.
May we live out His Word in truth and proclaim it in truth never twisting it's meaning to serve us or agree with our will.
