November 15 "And Yet God!" Acts 7:9

So much betrayal under the stars.
So much grief from afar.
"And yet God was with him."  Acts 7:9.
The reference is to Joseph. Betrayed and left for dead by his family. Yet!  Sometimes I think God is not thinking about me and my little life or something would happen. I go back to that experience of God and nature. Oh, there's so much more. May we know more deeply than any knowledge that God is with us and all is right.  He is always working good for us in all things.  My definition of good and God and great needs to be His Words.  Look at Stephen---he was stoned!  I read my Bible, but it reads me.

PRAYER FROM PSALMS
Psalm 51:6 No Words, God.  Repentance.

  1. Stephen had no fear. Heaven opened up and he saw Jesus.

Today the Bible reads us as we read it. Let us not be stiff-necked people today, seeking the gifts and the power like Simon yet refusing to take the hard look at our sin. Our hearts will be exposed. The intent of our motives will be revealed. Are we seeking the blessing or the Blesser? We need spiritual eyes and obedient hearts.

Lord, I want to know You. I want forgiveness and peace, so that I can focus on You and not the many enemies that surround, distract, and cause discomfort in this life. Purify our hearts, Lord. Give us clean hearts that seek Your Face, and everything else falls into place. Thank you for the example of Stephen, Simon, Philip and the Ethiopian. May Your Spirit anoint us and carry us today wherever you would have us go. Amen.
