Come, O God, Like the Rains.
Unannounced.
Unnoticed.
So Needed.
Hosea 1:13 - She followed her lovers and forgot God, even when she was married---still an adulteress. Consulting wooden idols. Hosea 3:12. Asking diviner's wands to inform them. "Playing the harlot, departing from God."
God says: He will go away until you acknowledge your guilt and seek His Face. He does not say when you learn to be grateful or once you are doing well or when you do the right things. No, it's when we acknowledge our guilt and seek His Face not seek changed lives/changed behavior. He will come back when we repent not when we just recall good things, count our blessings.
Hosea 6:1 - “Come, let us return to the Lord.
For He has torn us, but He will heal us...
Let us press on to know the Lord.
And He will come to us like the rain,
Like the spring rain watering the earth."
Hosea 6:3
PRAYER FROM PSALMS
Psalm 95:6 - "Come, Let us Bow Down in worship,
Let us kneel before the Lord, Our Maker,
for You are our God and not any wooden modern-day images.
Today, let us hear Your Voice amidst all this noise.

It's in our weakness, our affliction, our guilt acknowledged sin condition, that we turn to Him. Why, when things are going well, do we cruise along, but only get serious when we know we're in over our heads? We fall on our face and cry out, instead of steadily walking under His Guidance and in obedience. I guess we think we're doing okay until we stumble upon another way we aren't doing okay, and our sin is ever before us.
But then, Grace...takes over, scoops us up, pronounces us clean and can do Its magnificent work in our hearts, in our lives, in the world around us. It's when we're weak that He is strong. Lord, we need You every day, not just in our affliction. Our hearts are parched and need a good soaking of Living Water!
Come like a sweet, long-awaited rain, Lord!
