It's easy in times of trouble to look at what others are doing to us, their distance from us, and the loss we experience because of them. If I've seen anything in my life, I believe God is saying that all I can deal with is my own stuff, my own ways, or lack of them. My duty, my calling is to respond to a God in Heaven and turn from any way that does not please Him.
Let us examine and probe our ways,
And let us return to the Lord.
We lift up our heart and hands
toward God in heaven.
It is good that a man should
Hope & Quietly Wait for God.
Oh God, let our prayers pass through. May we expect no one, nothing else to come through for us but you. I sat at a desk today not willing to move until God gave some assurance that He will move in my life. These people continued weeping but they continued waiting. They knew way down deep that there was No Other God.
PRAYER FROM PSALMS
Rain righteousness on us, O God. Make me care more about my Chief Joy than this place where I dwell. Psalm 137:5-6. "Will You not revive us again?" Psalm 85:6.
Waiting on the Lord is often difficult, but there's no place I'd rather be than when I'm in the tight and uncomfortable places that I have My God's Ear as I bring my case to Him. It is good that a man hope and quietly wait for God.
ReplyDeleteFather, Lift our hearts to Your Presence. Sit with us as we wait. Comfort and quiet us as our days are fulfilled that our Hope and Future is ever before us through the tender mercy of Jesus. Amen.
I read in MH commentary that God wants us to complain to Him not about Him. I liked that!
ReplyDeleteThinking about you guys! Not because of that quote---smile---but because I love you all.
A straight arrow prayer that I pray with you, Bev--let our prayers pass through.
ReplyDelete"O Lord, You have pleaded my soul’s cause;
You have redeemed my life."
From a deep pit. You have raised, redeemed, revived me. In You we wait quietly. Waiting with God is a sweet place. Waiting for God is a powerful thing.
