July 28 "Day of Reckoning" Isaiah 2:12

THERE will be a day of reckoning.
The proud will not be able to escape.
The humbled will survive.
We will more than survive, we will reign.  Isaiah 2:12

So what do we do today to prepare for that fateful frightful day?
"Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean;
Remove the evil of your deeds from God's sight.
Cease to do evil.
Learn to do good.
Seek Justie.
Reprove the Ruthless.
Defend the Orphan.
Plead for the Widow.
Come, NOW.
Let us reason together,
says the LORD.
Though your sins are as scarlet, though read like crimson,
They will be like wool.

Don't walk away from what others say.  Listen.  Hear an ounce of truth, maybe.
Reason together.
Reason with your husband.
Reason with your children.
Reason with your family.
Reason with your friends.

PRAYER FROM PSALMS
Psalm 24:3-6
We bow our hearts.
We bend our knees.
Oh Spirit come make us humble.
We turn our eyes .
From evil things.
Oh, LORD, we cast down our idols.
Give us clean hands.
Give us pure hearts.
Let us not lift our souls to another.

  1. Alas, sinful nation, People weighed down with iniquity, Offspring of evildoers, Sons who act corruptly! They have abandoned the Lord,
They have despised the Holy One of Israel, They have turned away from Him.

I cry out for America Lord. Our country is abandoning You as a nation more and more each day. I pray as a country we return to You, that millions forsake self and false religions. I pray we repent as a nation and remain a true and loyal friend to Israel.

I pray as individuals we listen and repent. I pray we humble ourselves and take Your correction so that we grow in Christ without a necessary sifting.

In Jesus' Mighty Name I pray.

  2. A Day of reckoning is coming. A remnant is reserved.

Our nation is a mess. That we would see God as God and fear again is my prayer, too, Annette. A rightful judgment is coming and who can stand?
Though our sins are scarlet, we are made like wool by His Blood alone. Not by our filthy rags of self proclaimed righteousness, but by His crimson stained Sacrifice for us, we will survive that Day.

In His Mercy, a remnant always remains. From one generation to another, we are steadily progressing to more and more evil, but God preserves a righteous few who carry the Love forward, who pronounce salvation to sinners, who faithfully serve Him until that Day. Find me among that remnant, Lord, who holds steady to Your Hand. The days are growing harder. Help us to cling closer, Lord. We need You more than ever.
