June 2 "That's Enough, God" Job 7:3

Follow the old ancient paths that so many have already trod.
They are tried and true and tested and through.
Job 7:3 God, You appointed these troubles of mine every night.
Tossing and Turning.
Covered with Worms.
It's You.
Job decides to voice his anguish against the realities he correctly sees.  But, something is not coming from a good place within Job.  A demandingness seeps trickles through this pious man.  We do the same, don't we?  We make decisions:  that's enough.  And we listen to friends when we probably shouldn't.  Friends who want things to be calm for us, easy for us, fair for us, pleasant for us.  What does our Maker want for our lives?  He could make it all smooth with the flip of a wrist.  But we are all "too easily pleased."  We'll stay content in our small sins.  A little demandingness is really just standing up for my own rights.  I used to wonder if we had any rights in this life. I know now the answer to that question.

PRAYER FROM PSALMS
Psalm 17:3 ~ Father, You probe my heart.  You examine me and test me at night.  In those dark nights of the soul.  You are listening to what I am telling myself.  Oh God, may we have no plans of evil, no waiting words to correct what we don't like.  Oh God!

OVERVIEW: Job 5-7

  1. I know the answer that God gave you, Bev. We have no rights. We are supposed to be "dead" people....dead to ourselves and alive to Him. We do not have the right to hurt feelings or the "right" to have everything always turn out just right and just hunky dory....We should be grateful for His mercy and His compassion every day. Sadly, we are not....the world has or is trying to convince us that we are supposed to always "be happy and healthy" and IF we are not, then something is wrong with God. There is NOTHING wrong with God and everything wrong with us. Oh, may He give us eyes and ears to hear His truth and accept it and live it out for others to see. So, that they may say....."there is a God"...and only one God.
