Wherever David went ... whatever David did ...
God helped him.
What courage, what might, what vision.
Yet, God help!
The Lord stands ready to help us all ... Satan stands too.
"And the Lord helped David wherever he went." I Chron 18:13
He faced tens of thousands of Arameans armed with swords and chariots.
Forty Thousand Foot Soldiers & 7,000 Charioteers
Who never went back home to their families.
Dead in battle.
Conquered.
How did that make David feel? What did he take away from this battle?
Did the success humble him before the Face of his God?
The next story reveals a piece of David's heart.
"Then,
Satan stood up against Israel and moved David to number Israel." I Chron 21:1.
How could David, a man of God, listen to the enemy of his soul.
But the real question this day is this ... how can I?
And David's response when confronted with his sin: So Beautiful ~
I would rather fall into the Good Hands of God than the hands of men.
David knew something about God's Goodness that is so inviting.
