Do things appear as they really are?
People and Things look beautiful at first glance.
Why is it that I let these loves, these current situations steal my peace?
I Samuel 27:11 The Lord forbids that I should stretch out my hand against the Lord's anointed. David trusted God and did not take matters into his own hands. He made peace. All the injustice---let it lie in the hands of God. What is it that propels us to seek justice for ourselves, our story? May we listen to what stirs within, listen to our conscience, no matter what the results that may appear in our favor, their favor. 2 Chron 20:15 ~ this battle that we fight is not ours to fight. Do we allow God to work through us to accomplish what only He can do. We are not managers of this life; we are surrenderers. What injustice steals your peace this day? What would it look like to trust God in the midst?PRAYER FROM PSALMS Teach me Your Way, O LORD. Lead me in a straight path, a forgiving path, where I allow You to act in Justice in your time. Amen.
OVERVIEW: Psalm 25-27

Today not only do we read about David and the way in which he continues to handle the situation with Saul, the Lord's anointed; we read about Abigail. She is a witness to Christian wives everywhere. (I am not saying we should remain in unsafe environments.) God delivered both David and Abigail from their situations in His time.
ReplyDelete"The Lord will repay each man for his righteousness and his faithfulness; for the Lord delivered you into my hand today, but I refused to stretch out my hand against the Lord’s anointed." David spared Saul again, but each again parted and went their separate ways. It appeared that they had reconciled but David discerned that Saul still could not be trusted and so he keeps a safe distance. Injustice against David? Yes. But David put his trust in the Lord alone. Sometimes distance brings peace. And sometimes peace comes in the middle of the worst distress.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your words, Bev. "We are not managers of this life; we are surrenderers." Injustices will happen. But they do not have to steal our Peace if we surrender it into the sure Hands of the Savior.
