April 14 "God Takes Notice" I Kings 6:12

The God of Peace sees my work this day.  He hears my cries for help.

Solomon is building this house for the God of peace.  No hammer or ax is to be heard. I Kings 6:7. This 57 foot long/ 43 feet wide rock is said to be the threshing floor of Araunah, bought by David for the sight of his altar.  Tradition touts that a thousand years before, Abraham built his altar on this rock.  The scholars find that "without a doubt, here stands the altar in Solomon's Temple." If true, then Abraham, Isaac, David, Solomon walked in this place.  Hard to grasp that we will know them in Eternity and join in praise to their King, our King.

Oh, the delicate holy detail of God's House.  Such precision.  Wainscoting.  Overlays.  Gilding. Amazing accoutrements.  Takes 7 1/2 years to build it.  Some of the materials are shipped over the seas.  So, what's the point here of this Wonder of the World.  I Kings 6:12 ~ God took notice.  To think of the God of Peace hovering over our work every day is mindboggling.  Wonder what he thinks of us?  Wonder if we are giving our all?  Our families, our friends, our ministries may not take notice of our work this day, but our God sees every detail.  It is the God of Peace for Whom we work, not men.  He is watching, waiting, wooing.

PRAYER FROM PSALMS
Dear God, Would you make me aware this very day that You are watching me and observing my work, my love, my praise.  You love it, don't You?  Amen and amen.   Psalm 34:19

  1. Mind boggling indeed! God notices details. What a splendor this temple must have been. I didn't know that about the altar. That's so like God to preserve it for the people to see His faithfulness through the generations!

    1. Thank you, Pearls for praying. Juan was admitted yesterday to MD Anderson. The family has renewed hope. God opened doors that we thought were closed. Thank you, Lord!

    2. Oh, Annette, a brain tumor! God hears his cries. May God intervene in ways we never imagined. Eph 3:19-20. Keep us posted of his progress that we may hold this man of God in prayer before a very Good God.

  2. My mind can barely cope with the details of the temple Solomon built which reinforces my belief in the creation story of Gen. How could we descend from a cell? There is too much detail in creation for God's hand not to be in it.

Thank You Lord for opening the door for Juan. We ask You to pour out Your healing on him, please touch Him Lord. We pray he is while spiritually, mentally, and physically in Christ Jesus. In the Mighty Name of Jesus we pray!
