May 1 ... I Chronicles 3 "Failure is an Opportunity"

I Chronicles 3:1 David had 19 sons and Tamar. Plus other sons from his concubines. Wonder how he felt as a father of so many sons who walked away from his God?  Failure seemed like opportunities for David.  Is failure an opportunity in my life?

This genealogy traces the remant of faith from the beginning to the remant now gathered in Jerusalem.  And we know the rest of the story for we are a part of that remant all the way to this day----a remant chosen by faith, Romans 11:5.  Invited to be His chosen daughter, His chosen remnant.  We are "in" and hopefully "all in."  So, "devote your first energies to rebuilding the temple, not your lives."  66 LL

  1. It has been a very difficult past couple of days in strained relationships. We had the privilege of going out tonight with new friends who have faced a recent tragedy in their lives. They were so encouraging in the midst of their own suffering. What a privilege to share with them what God has been doing in our lives! Tucked in bed for the evening with a double ear infection----ouch----and upper respiratory infection. Meanwhile Bob shares with me how dear friends of ours who face their own financial challenges gave us some money and we paid the last of our senior son's tuition today so he can graduate. Praise God! He provided today in ways we didn't fathom!

  2. Bev, I am so sorry about the strained relationships you're dealing wtih.

    Outlaws
    Inlaws
    "Bye"laws

Hope the strain loosens and life gets better.

Praying, too, for your ears and chest to start feeling much better! Thankful to hear that you are tucked in bed. Rest is good.

How sweet to be encouraged by friends going through hard times themselves. It's so nice to know that when we are suffering...we are on the right road.

Praising God for providing your money blessing. F.R.O.G.

About today's reading. This part of the Bible always puts me to sleep. Genealogy. It must be really important to God or it wouldn't be here. But the only names that I kinda woke up over was the one named "Ohel" and the "Jabez." I admit I laughed out loud over "Ohel." And I sure understood "Jabez - Oh the pain!"

    By the way,

I am Deborah, the daughter of George and his one and only wife, Sara. I have two daughters, Michelle Miranda and Hillary Grace, by Ronald. We are of the line of Jesus Christ.

    :)

  3. Bev, I am praying for your healing and comfort. Earaches are so painful and your tough week probably didn't help your immune system. Praying all the stress and difficulty have passed and are working themselves out to His glory. Love and hugs, Annette
