#100 Whether in adversity or acclaim, it is all from Above. Don't be slack. Joshua 18:2. Find real rest. Let God do what is good to God. #60000thoughts #talkingtomyself
Do we deserve what we have? I remember a good friend sharing with me on the subject of suffering. He said: "What is a miracle is that God does anything for us." Oh! To live content with what we have in this life and be faithful stewards of this one little life. God knows best. Can I leave it laying in His Hands or demand things go my way? Joshua left all in God's Good Hands. He didn't play favorites. Wholly His. The boundaries were apportioned out by God. No jealous jockeying, no surreptitious selfish claims. So what's the point in this passage: Everything is from the LORD---let God do what is good to God, be it whatever may.In Joshua 18:2, Joshua blames their "slackness" as the reason why they had no real rest in their lives. What about this quiet rest of my own soul? Whether we are in adversity or acclaim---it's all from Above.
COME BOLDLY: Timeless Prayers
When entitlement knocks, will I discern it as wrong? Help us, dear Father, as we navigate through the sins that easily entangle us. What we so quickly see in another's life, may we recognize in our own with eyes open wide. Open the spiritual eyes of our heart, today and always.
