We have so much cause to rejoice.
But some of us are stuck.
Some of us are strapped.
Some of us are sinking.
Now, for a little while,
you have been "put to grief" in various trials.
I Peter 1:6
"Though now you don't see Him,
yet believing,
you rejoice greatly with joy unspeakable
and full of glory."
I Peter 1:8
Yes, those moments that cannot be conjured.
The joy even in the midst of difficulties---
well there are no words in the English dictionary
to describe what God has done and is doing.
So we move forward in the theme of this book:
in holiness and in brotherly love.
How can I move in the mess I am in? How can I rejoice in these all-consuming trials we face---the ones common to man. Am I even asking the right questions? So many verses focus on enduring trials not eliminating them---and how to endure, persevere, revel, rejoice. Father, we ask for Your Guiding Hand of Grace.
