320 - “A Mist of Problems” Acts 15

God opened Lydia's heart to obey the things spoken by Paul.  Her tears held deep emotions.  Her tears held the cognizance of a new life.  Her tears tell hope and courage and faith.  May we truly listen to the Word of God.  May we hear the stories our tears tell.

The apostles spoke so plainly, so pure full of concern for souls. People knew their success was attributed to God not their expertise. Not so today. It's too much about how good people are in speaking, teaching. These plain pure men proved the Spirit of God. May it be said of those of us who are nondescript in obscurity. It is God in our lives willing and working on our behalf.

Our God has opened the door of faith wide open to all of us who were once strangers. I turn 74 today. It was on my 21st birthday that I went to the Catholic chuirch on the LSU Campus and fell on my knees sobbing that my search was over. I wanted to wholeheartedly follow God. But there was a nagging question. Who was right?  The Catholics or the Baptists or some other religion. How do you really know?
Well, I found out how you really know and here it is 53 years later and I am still following, still standing, still in love with my First Love.

So, according to Acts 15…

Rend your hearts not your behavior. And we will know what we really care about when we are snubbed and dubbed and can walk away rejoicing we were counted worthy to suffer.

Let us bury our past——all the injuries and insults.

Father, Lead us this day to rend our hearts to You alone. Not to change our behavior to fit the occasion. But would You change our lives this day.
