EXODUS - Take-Aways

Moses sees a burning bush but no human was kindling that fire.

Moses hears a booming Voice but no Face speaking in that fire.

Moses knows there is no human, but One burning in that fire.

And that Being calls Moses by name. And the Prince answers back by heart: “Here I Am.” Exodus 3:4.

Oh, to be found fully living in the moment.

And the Israelites bowed their heads in worship. Exodus 4:31.

While Pharaoh bowed his head to the temporal, not the eternal.

Pharaoh was never obligated to God for Today. it was always about what I will do tomorrow—-always on King Pharaoh’s terms.

In Exodus 12:29 God called the Israelites to march out of Egypt. They had to remember the things God did for them by looking backwards. March in your old mercies. Moses took the first brave step of faith forward on to dry ground. I will hold this screenshot forever. A sea piled-up a thousand feet on each side. Hundreds of thousands walking by sight, by faith—remember the description Joel gave of what they feared in the waters. The Lord was with the dads and moms with bowls of rising bread wrapped in their clothes shouldered every step—hands grasping and grabbing for their tiny children, clutching the looted paraphernalia on their backs. How can they, how can we not believe. God is Present in the depths of our problems.

POWER OF GOD

No Israelite could stir out of his door. Never has God chosen to speak like He did 10 Commandments that envelop our intentions and thoughts and motives. Little by Little. God sends an angel in Exodus 23:20 to guard them along the way and bring them the place God has prepared.  So keep your lamps burning for the Lord. Exodus 27:21. The Temple recognizes the God Who is there.  We are the temple today. Our God is Alive in me. Still here. Keep the lamps burning bright.

LOVE

The high priest had the names of the tribes both on his shoulders and on his breast. Oh the power and love of our Lord Jesus’ intercession on our behalf. LORD JESUS has our names inscribed on the palms of his hands. And the Spirit intercedes with groaning too deep for words. “All In” in attendance at the Throne. They were There every morning and every evening. Exo 29:42.

“There, I will meet with you and speak to you.”

“My presence shall go with you; and I will give you rest. Exo 33:14. I could live with this verse tucked under my pillow every night, every morning. Promise to the people.

The ending of the book: the Glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle Exo 40:34. And Matthew Henry’s commentary says: the Shechinah Glory took up its rest forever in Christ, the fullness of the godhead in a Person. The divine light and fire, let forth in their full strength, will overpower the strongest heads and the purest hearts. The shecinah glory enters through and passes into the most holy place, the Presence Chamber. Through Jesus, the forerunner, we have been invited to draw near and boldly approach the mercy seat.
