"Wearied by Trials and You Won't Make the Foot Race" Jeremiah 12-14; 2 Timothy 1

Jeremiah's disposition is about to grew even worse. What he is up against is not dissipating. He is forced to answer himself. And what does he hear? The very voice of Jehovah in his innermost parts. You won't make that horse foot race if you are wearied by the trials at hand. It's easy to be safe and sound and secure in a land of peace. But what about when the danger is pressing in on all sides? The pride of Jordan? When the overflowing peaceful banks meet with hungry lions? In the midst of all of our pride.

“If you have raced with men on foot, and they have wearied you,

how will you compete with horses?

And if in a safe land you are so trusting,

what will you do in the thicket of the Jordan?
Jeremiah 12:5

Storms brew. They take a toll on lives. We have no control. All we can do is control our own responses. So, to those things that stir within, light them with no match but with a heart doing what it can to stir what is already there. "Fan into flame the gift of God which is in you. "
2 Tim 1:6-7

What if You send the swelling banks full of prey?  And we can't even stand?  Will I trust You even there.  If I make my bed in the farthest places, I will never be away from You.  You send both the harvest and the famine.  May I trust You in both.
