"Don't Multiply Your Horses" Psalm 20-22, Acts 21:1-17

Psalm 20 is a prayer for kings in trouble. Not that wand in his hand nor the grace in our hearts exempt anyone. We all can be much in trouble and should be much in prayer. May we pray this prayer for protection, survival, and preservation of the desires of our very soul. And pray that God will enable us in our "undertakings for the public good," especially in this fractured political and social world of ours.

Trust only the mercy and grace of God.
Remember the name of the Lord your God.
Not a specific name.
His Perfect Name,
and all His perfections: goodness, wisdom, power.

That is what we trust in.
Not in our horses and chariots.
Horses trained to paw and trample and massacre.
Chariots manned with scythes that mow over anyone in their path.
They knew this language of "horses and chariots."
Trust only in the Name,
the One Who commanded us "not to multiply our horses." Deut 17:16
