David was overwhelmed.
Doesn't tell us why. He was.
So we cannot limit his circumstances to ours.
Figuratively speaking, he was at the end of human understanding and strength and resources.
There was a real and powerful sense in which this prayer
was offered from the end of the his earth.
Even though David never left the Promised Land.
So today! Lead me to the rock higher than I.
Above my wisdom. Above my power. Above my abilities. Above my word.
One thing God has spoken,
two things I have heard:
“Power belongs to you, God,
and with you, Lord, is unfailing love”;
and, “You reward everyone
according to what they have done.”
Psalm 62:11
