May 30 "Counting Life for Myself Not Too Dear" Esther 1-5

If I perish, I perish.  Esther 4:16.  Esther did not count her life as dear to herself.  No, she lived for the Kingdom come, God's will be done.  She faced great and evident danger approaching a king.  The law forbade.  The king's disposition unknown.  I mean, he had just ordered Vashti murdered.  Esther's predecessor.  She could not neglect her duty to God and her duty to God's people.  The verse says in the Hebrew that she cast herself cheerfully and resolutely upon God's providence for her safety and for the success of many.  That's the point.  Pray for God's providence to grip my decisions.
