January 2 "Distancing Ourselves" Genesis 4-6

"Let's go out to the field.  Cain attacked his brother and killed him." Gen 4:8. What lingers with you as you read these chapters today?  For me, it's this shocking verse.  In the deafening silent expanse of fields, he killed his own brother.  Can we ever think that distancing ourselves from others is the solution.  Permanent distancing here, for all time.  May we rise to live kinder, higher, deeper lives.  What lingers?

  1. "Every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time".
    My prayer today:
"Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me."
