Dear Children, Moses cautions that we should not prefer our spouses, our children, our friends over our God. These people were about to cross the Jordan where they would find people who lived for the idols of that day. We may not have idols today but we do have spiritual idols of loving this world too much and those in it. Deut 13:18 "Do what is right in His eyes."
