The Lord roars from Zion
and He thunders from Jerusalem;
the pastures of the shepherds dry up,
and the top of Carmel withers. Amos 1:2

Beautiful Amos.
Touches something in me.
He was a little slow of speech like Moses.
Yet his speech was weighty. His word "burden of the Lord."
Out of his stammering mouth the Word of God might be established in you.
Undaunting.
Faithful.
Reproving.
Pressing.
Calling us all to account.
The Lord roars.
May we all hear Him roar this day loud in love and mercy.
Matthew Henry puts it this way: Prophets like Amos open our wounds in reproof and threatening showing our wrong---all the while in the Promises of Gospel-Grace, they open the Remedy which Alone will set all to right.
Yes, the LORD roars loud in Love & Mercy.
Under His Voice. Isaiah 30:21 - this is the Way, walk in it.
DEAR GOD, PLEASE CHANGE ME IN MY 10,000 MOMENTS LIKE TODAY WHEN WOUNDS ARE OPENED AND I FEEL LAID BARE BEFORE YOU. Set my heart right for I long for You. This prophet's words comfort me in my mess. And I'm reminded of Isaiah 30:18 that what is so Beautiful in this is that You long for me. And You long to have Compassion on me. Come, Lord Jesus! Come!
