July 21 "Entitled" Proverbs 24-26

Don't be forward.
That check in your spirit.
If it is crossing off
vaunting
vain-glorious
talk and action,
then pay close attention.
Humble yourself when you hear it.

"Do not exalt yourself
In the king’s presence,
and do not claim
a place among his great men"
Proverbs 21:6

The commentaries said that the point of this text is this:  Do not change frequent and familiar society with greater persons than who you are, much less intrude upon places and people where none but the nobles go. And we live in such a celebrity society where you can follow them on Periscope and Twitter---so let it go.  Claim your present not anyone else's.

DEAR GOD, PLEASE CHANGE ME IN THESE 10,000 MOMENTS OF WANTING TO BE SOMEONE ELSE, SITTING IN SOMEONE'S SHOES WHOM THE WORLD SAYS MATTER:  May I be way more content to wake up this morning knowing you are at the foot of my bed, waiting.
