Our words come from our very soul.
When a man makes a vow to the Lord or takes an oath to obligate himself by a pledge, he must not break his word but must do everything he said. Numbers 30:2
They bind us to the pledge.
When I give my word to another,
I bind myself to that act, that person.
But when I give my word to God,
I bind my very soul to Him.
Let your yes, be yes.
Let your no, be no.

DEAR GOD, PLEASE CHANGE ME IN ONE OF MY 10,000 MOMENTS: May these vows that bind my heart to Thee ring ever so real in how I live this day. Oh Father, send a ripple from the spoken words that channels into ridges and ravines that cement the spirit of what I have promised. We have taken on these obligations. Let us take on Your Spirit to live them out.
