January 22 "Be Still" Exodus 13-15

Deliverance comes with a price.  Pharaoh let the people go, finally.
And God did NOT lead them on the road that was the shortest route lest they change their minds and return to Egypt. He led them toward the Red Sea. And the people cried terrified:
“Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die?
Now they cry it would be better to serve in Egypt than die in the wilderness.
Stand firm, o soul of mine.
See your very own deliverance.
See the challenges dissolve in your presence.

"The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14

DEAR GOD, PLEASE CHANGE ME IN ONE OF THESE 10,000 MOMENTS, Make me walk on dry ground through these turbulent waters.  Help me Move On (14:15). May I find You even in the "last watch of the night" (14:24).  Jam the wheels of this thing I am up against.  Because You care.  Teach us all to be still, even in the last watch.

Be Still my soul! Have wondered and pondered many heavy thoughts standing on this bridge. Oh! To live a quiet still life before God.
