God spoke through the prophets many times and in various ways.
And this Christmas---He has spoken to us by His Son,
the Heir of all things. Heb 1:1
This ...
"Therefore we ought to pay greater attention to the things that were heard,
lest perhaps we drift away." Heb 2:1
If this Word spoken proved steadfast,
how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation this Christmas. Heb 2:3
This ...
So many choose to neglect Christ;
They don't out-and-out deny.
They believe that God exists.
They even believe that God answers prayer.
But their everyday living neglects this--- the Purpose & Presence & Power.
May we not neglect this Reason for Christmas.
This ...
Some of us will wrestle with our graciousness colliding with our selfishness
especially surrounded by loved ones who disappoint.
Our God is able to help those who are tempted this Christmas. Heb 2:18
COME BOLDLY: Timeless Prayers
Dear Father, We are about to spend time with those we love. Those who will disappoint us, once again. And whom we will disappoint. May we live by the mantra: charge it all to our account. Thank You that you are able to help us when tempted because You say it all right here about how this is really about neglecting You not denying You. May we see what is happening in our souls.

I'll be back again next year.
ReplyDeleteFrom Genesis to Revelation.
Instead of a Daily Post about the Scripture Reading,
I'll offer a Daily Prayer from the reading.
And I'll invite anyone to leave a prayer request.
I am going to read John Wesley commentaries on the entire Bible this year in addition to the readings.
John Wesley is on: www.eword.com
Audio Bible is an awesome app. The fabulous British reader moves through long chapters in 2 mins.
How can you say no to listening to the Word of God for a few minutes a day?
And check in every Maundy Monday to pray--- it's the command to love one another.
And. Maybe this is the year to listen to the Word of God.
This past year, I read Matthew Henry in addition to my reading and it opened a beautiful Word to me.
