August 3 "Send An Angel" 2 Chronicles 32, 33

King Hezekiah faced harsh words from the king of Assyria.
Blasphemy. Terror on every side.

So
What did Hezekiah do?
He prayed "because of this"
And cried to heaven. 2 Chron 32:20

And what did God do?
The unimaginable. For them. For us.
"The Lord sent an angel
Who cut off all the mighty warriors & commanders & officers
In the camp of the king of Assyria. 2 Chron 32:21

In truth, The Lord saved Hezekiah from
The hand of all of his enemies
"And he provided for them on every side." 2 Chron 32:22

Won't He do the same for us?

COME BOLDLY: Timeless Prayers
You did this centuries ago. You can do it this day, too. For my friend who lost her husband today. For my child who is in a hard place. For my friend who just lost her teen-age boy. For my husband who embraces impossible odds. Send an angel, Lord.

  1. But Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the Lord did not come upon them in the days of Hezekiah.

He humbled himself for his pride as well as the people of Jerusalem - I pray Christians in America humble themselves for the pride in their/my own hearts/heart as well as the pride of the American people and will cry out to God for mercy.

  2. I read that and it so struck me that he humbled himself for both his own life and all of his people. I wonder how you do that?
