They became faithless not full of faith.
They practiced secrets not surrender.
"And the people of Israel did secretly against the Lord their God things that were not right." 2 Chron 17:
They even burned their children as offerings. 2 Chron 16:2

And all this occurred because the people of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God.
The Mighty One who had brought them up out of the land of Egypt.
All because they feared other gods.
All because they walked in the customs of the nations, the customs of the wicked kings.
They had to follow the strong people. God never intended for us to be attached to anyone but Him.
God never intended for pastors to be super stars.
Can we say the same for our country?

Oh Father, forgive us for our waywardness, our hearts seeking other gods. Heal this land of ours.
