Before the years draw near - Eccl 12:1-3
Before the sun and the light and the moon and stars are darkened
Before the clouds return after the rain
In the day when the keepers of the house tremble
Those who look through the window are dimmed
And the earth returns to dust as it was.
Before all that happens, know this
Vanity of Vanities. All is vanity.
Fear God and Keep His Commandments.
And God records this to show us the reality of our days.
Cast your bread upon the waters.
Even 7. Even 8.
Even when it seems to be spent for nothing, not much.
Give freely! Give your money away; Give your time away.
Eccl 11:1
So, let's pay attention to what really matters, first things first
Come to the Creator before He becomes Your Judge of every secret thing.
The end of the matter. It's our whole duty.
COME BOLDLY: Timeless Prayers
Father, help us to see with spiritual eyes today what is in front of us.
We all will face judgment. May I be way more concerned this day
with coming to You and love You and leaving my life in Your Hands.

Ecclesiastes is a hard read. The negativity gets me down in places. In others it speaks to me.In Ecc. 7:13 jumped off the pages to me this morning. God has the good and bad and we should praise Him for all things not just the good! He is still on His throne no matter what is going wrong in our lives or what we consider is going wrong. God does bring us blessings in the raindrops as well as the sunshine. He has really showed that to me this year. And I am still learning that truth. It is comforting to know that He is not through with me yet, for He is still teaching me new things every day. In 7:18....where it says."the man who fears God will avoid all extremes. I am reading the NIV so not sure what other translations say. To me that says I am to fear God and when things don't go like I want them to, if I fear Him, I will avoid the extremes that are out there. He has gone before me and is coming behind me in what I am facing right now.
