June 2 "Do We Understand What We Read?" Song of Solomon 1-3; Galatians 2

Scripture interprets Scripture.
There is no mention of God in this book.
In reality, some of the things read unmentionable.
So, what is the point for me of this metaphor, this parable?
Psalm 50:2 says that it is a Beautiful God Who pours out of each of us.
Perfect in Beauty is the God Who pours out day after day.
That is, if we let Him and let go of what entangles.
Like the eunuch being questioned
Do you understand what you
are reading?  Acts 8:30.

Matthew Henry talks of the many people who have served as guides for the understanding of this book.  "It appears to be a very bright and powerful ray of heavenly light, admirable fitted to excite pious and devout affections in holy souls, to draw out their desires towards God, to increase their delight in him, and approve their acquaintance and relationship with Him.  Matthew Henry

Oh Dear Father!  Do we really understand what we are reading?  Would you send someone our way to unfold your word and make it clear what it means to love.  We can say we want Christi till we are blue in the face.  Our actions tell us what we really want.  So, expose these hearts of ours, O God.

Do you understand what you are reading?  Someone can guide you through this galaxy.  A consternation of support if we just ask.  God waits to welcome us to His banquet table.  Song of So. 2:4
