O Lord, who shall sojourn in your tent?
Who shall dwell on your holy hill? Psalm 15:1
David pleads to God for mercy, for help.
All our world depends on this. Beg for direction
to know what it takes "to be" and "to do" His will.
Walk blameless - is it possible
Do what is right - it is possible, only in His Power.
Psalm 2:1
David faced humiliation, separation, disgrace.
In Psalm 22:2, David prophesies that he cried out,
Why have You forsaken me God. You don't answer me.
"And by night, I find no rest."
Tossing and turning, the dark reveals what's really going on.
Yet, David concludes, "You are Holy."
May that be the mantra of our day.
Yet, I believe. Yes, You are Holy.
David said he was scorned, despised, mocked.
Yet, He trusts in the Lord.
Most of us do not have the depths of despair
that David faced but the degree isn't the measure.
What we face this day is so very real to us.
May we cry out, God is Holy, and we are not.
May we beg for direction, for mercy, for hope
From the Only One Who truly matters.
He will rescue us---trouble is near.
Bones are out of joint.
Hearts are like wax, melted within my breast.
Strength is dried up.
Layed low in the dust of death.
Yet, we will trust Him.
COME BOLDLY: Timeless Prayers
Father, what each of faces this day looms large in our minds and hearts. It's right in front of us. It's things we cannot even articulate for fear of reprisal or shame to others. It's complicated and messy. It's above our heads, below our feet. It's more than we can handle. It's what You have allowed. It's too much; it's not enough. It's You we need. We must decrease and You must increase. Let us hear from You today when our bones creak and our hearts wreck. Help us to blindly wildly trust You.

"Blessed is the man
ReplyDeletewho walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers."
I am not feeling very "watered" lately. I know that Fountain which fills and flows, but am still searching for a "ground" (church nearby.)
Yesterday, God led me to a church that had a good feel, and seems like it's the one. I don't believe in church shopping, but I do know that a grounded church can sure be a blessing and source to stay firmly planted and grow.
Life is a blind jump. Life requires more of us than we have in our own power. Thankfully, we do not have to do this thing alone. I'm choosing to trust this day, to know He is there even when that first step seems like a free-fall.
Uphold us, Lord, with Your righteous Right Hand. Catch us when we fall, and upright us again to stand faithfully for Your Truth, Your Life, Your Way. Amen.
