May 12 "Please Hasten" Psalms 65, 66, 67, 69, 70

You established the mountains.
You still the roaring seas.
We're in awe of You.
Psalm 65:6-7

The going out of this day shouts joy.
Yet, like David, we all face needs.
David writes:
"Save me, O God!
For the waters have come up to my neck.
I sink in deep mire,
where there is no foothold.  Psalm 69:2.
Deep waters, where the flood sweeps over.
Weary, so weary with crying.
Parched throats.
Dimmed eyes.
Waiting for my God.
Psalm 69:1-3

"May all who seek You
rejoice and be glad in You."
May we all say
'God is great!' " Psalm 70:4
BUT
David says it:
"But I am poor and needy;
hasten to me, O God.
Do Not Delay!"

We all need Him so.

COME BOLDLY:  Timeless Prayers
O Lord, Do not delay.  Please hasten to our words, our hearts.  We are all poor and needy this day.  May we see how we can accomplish nothing today except through Your Power.  Seal our hearts in Your Grace today.  Steady our ways.  Sweep us off our feet.  Show up in ways we don't expect.  And may you find us surrendered.

  1. Come and see what God has done...
Come and hear, all you who fear God...

And let praise flow this day from my lips.

Psalm 69 and 70 also are such good words in those times when I have none, when I'm down and out, when I am far from feeling His nearness and love. And in this place, too, let praise flow from my lips. For He desires my heart in this place, too--not just when times are sunny and bright. In fact, how much more so, that here in this place that my heart reach up and grab His Saving Hand.

May we all say God is great!

Hope you all had a happy Mother's Day yesterday. Mine was good with two of mine able to come to our house Sunday, and the other remembering me last weekend. Being a mom has been my life's "opus", the greatest privilege of my life, and the one that has grabbed my heart with the highest highs and the lowest lows. And I thank God that He allowed me to walk this path. And proclaim, God is great!

I also am acutely aware that Mother's Day is a difficult day for many, and I ask God to bless the hurting hearts, the barren wombs, the orphans, the ones who long for a mother or to be a mother. It's been twenty years since I've seen my mother on earth and she still she is the most profoundly influential person I've ever known and had the blessing of being loved by her. And I am thankful and proclaim God is great.

  3. Not sure why, but I cannot get today's post to publish on blogger. Must be some quirky thing going on. My apologies. I'll keep trying. I did the post yesterday afternoon but it will not allow me to edit and finish it. Come back soon.
