March 9 "Look Toward the Sunrise" Numbers 33-34

Humbled. Recounting the journey through the wilderness but not recanting it.  Moses chooses not to live in the past, even though he will not travel beyond the Jordan.  He lets go of his sin that caused his loss.  Moses accepts God's Story for his life not his own demands.  No recantings.

"The two tribes and the half-tribe have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan east of Jericho, toward the sunrise.” Numbers 34:15.  And may we look toward the sunrise of this brand spanking new day.  And I'm reminded of an old quote by Tim Keller:

"It means no matter what you've done,
no matter who you are,
the distinction that Jesus recognizes is
NOT BETWEEN THE GOOD AND THE BAD.
The only distinction that divides humanity now is between
THE PROUD AND THE HUMBLE.
That's the only one that counts.
It's the only one that matters."  Tim Keller

COME BOLDLY:  Timeless Prayers
Oh, God, make us humble people.  Help us to see our arrogant ways----the way we look down on others; the way we try to live this life by our good choices; the way we distance ourselves from You; the way we look, speak, hear, walk, write, jump, live, love this day.

PHOTO:  Watched this glorious sunrise that found me on my knees in the sand.  Humbled.  One moment in time.  May we live so conscious of our dependence on You!  Forgive our arrogant ways.

  1. Been trying for two days to fly to Seattle to see Bob's ailing father. All tickets are sold out. Been in bed for 2 days with flu. Plus I have this hip problem that they are doing a bone scan on---my tumor markers came back normal which means no significant measure of cancer cells in my body and that is encouraging. Pray we make it to Seattle during this Spring Break week! We were not able to fly at Christmas to see him. Been way too long.
