March 19 "Keep Your Silence" Deuteronomy 24-27

"Your corpses are going to litter the wilderness---every one of you twenty years and older who was counted in the census, this whole generation of grumblers and grousers." Eugene Peterson. Only Caleb and Joshua will enter this Promised Land along with the children of those grousers. Moses and the priests instruct those children who are now 59 and younger:

"Keep silence and hear: this day you have become the people of the Lord your God. You shall therefore obey the voice of the Lord your God, keeping his commandments and his statutes, which I command you today.” Deut 27:9-10.

Keep your silence, Bev. When the rivers rage; when the deserts dry up; when the bridges blow up in your soul, forget not his benefits. Remember the LORD your God.

Listen obediently.
Listen to the Voice of God.
Keep His Commandments.

COME BOLDLY: Timeless Prayers
Father, there is Something so beautiful in those two words: Keep silence.  Far too often, I don't want the silence.  I want to fill it with good things, good times, comfortable moments.  I must choose silence but life is more than a good choice.  Father, change me in my heart that I may seek you in silence.

  1. So much silence over here as I wait for results from scans. Oncologists are not in too much of a flurry hurry with the healthy. Unnerving. But, I wait on no man.

    1. Did not realize you were having more scans done. God is there with you, holding you with His righteous right hand. He has gone before you and He is coming behind you. His arms are underneath you. May you feel His presence strongly today and be comforted in it. Love you dearly, one whom my physical eyes have never seen.
