Come Boldly Timeless Daily Encouragement on Prayer

Hi, Pearls. This is Annette. Bev asked me to post a little on here about Come Boldly.  We are reading through the Bible chronologically this year, adding devotions from Come Boldly: Timeless Daily Encouragements on Prayer that with go with our week's Scripture readings. Some of the devotions that matches our reading in Genesis this week pertain to wrestling before God in prayer.

Here are some timely readings from our devotional this week:

Come Boldly, wrestling in prayer, pp. 31, 49, 103, 164 243, 250, 272;  and mentions of Isaac, p. 162; Jacob, pp. 81, 103, 162, 175, 253: & Joseph, p. 162.

Jacob's wrestling with an angel stood out to me as being infused with rich lessons in prayer for us to apply. If you'd like, stop by and read more here

Leave a comment about where God is working on you in your prayer life this week. What are you wrestling with?

Lord, give us that kind of faith like Jacob to hang on and not let go...to wait for the blessing...as long as it takes. Help us to empty ourselves that we might partake of more of You. Thank You for the power of prayer and its impact on this world and the next. In Jesus we pray. Amen.

Join us as we seek God's Voice through the Scriptures and through prayer in 2014!

  1. The reading on page 243 spoke to me and said to me....this is where you are wrestling in prayer. I have no trouble at all to pray through the day....when He brings someone to my mind or to say thank you when He does something for me. Yet, to have one long concentrated prayer time other than the one i pray for all of my grandchildren and children for the coming day before I get out of bed, I seem to struggle with that prayer. I've known the enemy does not like it when we are on our knees or really want to go to the Father for a concentrated time of prayer. Several years ago, I felt the desire to be able to practice the presence of God and He so graciously has helped me to do that, yet now I am wrestling with the time of concentrated prayer. This reading gives me hope that the Lord is going to get me out of this rut. I am blessed that He is working and showing me how He is working in my heart and life. This book is a blessing in my life, just as 66 Love Letters was and is.
