December 18 "Things Will Not Be What They Are Today" Hebrews 1:3

Things are not really as they seem.
There are Things God is doing that we know not of.
There are Things we are doing that will not be what they are today.

Hebrews 1:3 God upholds all things by the word of His power. Things, as they seem this day, are really not what they will be. I may be stuck thinking that this is just a horrible situation when it really may not be anything but the watercourse directed by God in our lives. I cannot set my heart on what I see, things that I take to be a certain way. When actually, it will not be what is today, this present moment. "Sin has made a great change in the world for the worse, and Christ will make a great change in it for the better. Let the thoughts of this make us watchful, diligent, and desirous of that better world." Matthew Henry

So, today...Hebrews 4:7 “Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts..." For the Word of God is living. Sharper than a two-edged sword, piercing your intentions and motives nestled deep in your heart. Hebrews 4:12. Take hold of the hope set before you. An anchor of your soul. Hebrews 4:19. Strong Encouragement. Sure. Steadfast.  And anchors don't move, people do.  May I take a deep look today and realize that One Day things will not be what they are today.

PRAYER FROM PSALMS
Father, we pray the words of Psalm 32:8 ~ "Instruct us and teach us in the way we should go.  With Your Eye on each of us, give us light to see that You will change things for the better.  It won't always be this way.

  1. May each one of us listen closely today and be still enough so that we can hear that voice that says...."this is the way to go...walk this way".

  2. "And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power."
Behold the Son of God in your heart today.

Read these words that speak of a better Way, words that promise true Sabbath rest:
"For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard. For we who have believed enter that rest..."

Jesus is our high Priest who endured all things, suffered all things on our behalf. He understands what we need because He experienced it, without sinning.
"Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."

The entire Gospel Message is found in these beautiful verses today. Rich in meaning and filled with hope, we meditate on this Word and find our great salvation.

  3. "Behold the Son of God in your heart today." How Beautiful is that!
I sat listening to my son for about an hour this afternoon as the evening sun trespassed through the shadeless window dancing on his head. And I just watched and watched. It was one of those precious moments where Providence is present and all is right with my crazy world. And I beheld...a Beautiful God in the midst of so much going on.
