It is a towering heaven over all.
It is a towering Love Who calls.
May we meet Him this fine day.
Not swerving but sincere, come what may.
It was a sincere faith in these people. Oh, may we be known for that kind of sincerity. 2 Tim. 1:5. Kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you. God has not given a spirit of timidity but of power and love and discipline. May God have mercy on me. I feel that the discipline has flown out the window. It takes me way too long to accomplish projects. I am so distracted by things of this world. So, am I attracted to the world more than attracted to the goal of the gift of God Himself?
I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day. Several of these verses refer to "that day" and encourage those listening to pray for mercy for "that day." 2 Tim 4:18. Fight the good fight. Finish the course. Keep the faith. 2 Tim 4:7. Past tense for Paul. Present tense for you and me.
What will I do this day to fight hard, to finish well, to keep faith? 2 Tim 4:7
Paul says: Bring my books. Even Paul enjoyed this outside help. May we be changed by all the Divine Goodness in what we read and hold dear in our hearts.
PRAYER FROM PSALMS
Psalm 103: 11-12 As high as the heavens tower over the earth, Your Love towers over us all. Tower this day over all that concerns me. As far as the east is from the west, how far Divine Goodness has thrown my sin and remembers it no more. I hold the sin but You don't. Help me to lay down those thoughts that come uninvited, unawares. Thank You, God, for Towering Love, for Divine Goodness over all our days.

Praying for you through this week Bev especially as you face this health crisis. I'm so sorry it is right now especially as we celebrate The Lord's coming to earth. So I pray the Christmas message of Hope and His Very Near Presence envelopes you as you walk through the next few days.
ReplyDeleteYou can tell Paul loves Timothy as a son as he writes endearing words of encouragement: "You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus." These are words that encourage us to keep on keeping on, too. It is a blessed life that walks closely with the Lord through sunshine and storm. He is near. He is able.
PS Hey I know that picture! That is our wedding ceremony site off to the left and the fire circle in the middle right of the photo. Thanks for sharing it! Hugs and love.
It makes me want to sing that beloved hymn, too. "I Know Whom I Have Believed, and am persuaded that He is able. To keep that which I've committed unto Him against that Day!"
