ReplyDeleteIn my old church when we partook of the Lord's Supper, the priest would say, "This is the Cup of the New Covenant of my blood which is shed for you for the forgiveness of sins. Do this as oft as ye shall drink it in remembrance of Me. (Matthew 26:28 )
ReplyDeleteProphesied in Jeremiah 31, this new Covenant changed everything. It became not our promise to propitiate sin, but God's promise to eradicate it so that we could belong.
I will put my law within them, and I will write it upon their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people . . . [and] I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
So the new covenant is God's pledge to forgive the sins of his people and to put his laws within us and to write them on our hearts, and to be our God and to make us his people.
Written on our hearts, His Laws are in us, He is our God and we are His people. This is the beautiful God to Whom we belong. This is our God.
We are so loved by Him!
