2 Cor 6:13 "Widen Your Heart" (August 31)

Is there someone in your life that is restricted toward you?
Not willing to express their emotions about you?
Just restricted.  Distant.  Not very alive in the relationship.

You continue to open wide your heart!  Yes! 2 Cor 6:11.
They are the ones restricted in affection.
Paul writes to his church:
I speak to you as children,
Widen your hearts when you feel that distance. 2 Cor 6:13.

W-I-D-E-N your heart!
Every day we are driven by Eternity or Earth.
Eternal things or earthly things.
What would it look like for me this day
to w-i-d-e-n my heart to those who
have narrowed theirs at me?

  1. Restricted by our own affections...
I remember being afraid as a young mother about to have her second child that I wouldn't have enough love to split between children. The strange thing about love is that it multiplies each time with more love and grows our heart. Turns out, I had nothing to worry about at all- my heart grew to fit the demand of a new one.

This is a universal truth--there is always enough love to go around. We simply must choose it, so we read today

    "Widen your heart!"
    Choose love.
    Don't limit love.
    He's our Source and Provider.
There's always enough to go around.

  2. Praying that my heart is wide open and others will see and feel safe in my presence to share theirs as well.
    Have a great weekend, friends!
