James 5:1 Come now, you rich---how do we really deal with people? Do we use people like things. We are all rich in this country. And we deal with entitlement---I deserve better treatment, better service, better care, better life. Really, we all need a better heart.
James 5:13 Is anyone among you suffering? I am. Can we add your name to our list? Let us pray.
James 5:13 Is anyone cheerful? I am. And you? Let us sing praise to our Good God.
James 5:14 Is anyone among you sick? I am. Can we add your name to our list.
James 5:16 ~ The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. This speaks to a deep place inside of me, can't quite explain it. Your prayers have power as they are working. Wonder what God wants to work in each of us through our prayers today. Just like Elijah---a man who wanted to give up and die under the storied tree. And that liminal line blurted out right after he raised a little lifeless child from the dead. When does that ever happen? But Elijah's mirace---it didn't carry Elijah. God carried Elijah to a new place. And He wants to bring all of us to a new place this day with Him.
I ask you to stop right where you are this moment and spend a few minutes in prayer for the few people who post today and the others, whom you know, who visit here from time-to-time.
Then, leave a comment that you prayed or even what you prayed and the name of the person you prayed for. It could even be one sentence.
Know THIS---your prayers today have power as they are working!
Well, will try again....tried to leave a comment this morning but Google and I did not agree. Here goes for another chance.
ReplyDeleteOh, there is power in prayer. I could not have made it without prayer support. Knowing that the Holy Spirit prays for me when I do not know how/what to pray for others and for myself is of such great comfort.
I prayed for 'Nise, Annette and Bev this morning. Woke praying for the specific prayer requests that you all have expressed. May you each one feel His presence very strongly today.
Sweet hour of prayer~ the needs among us are huge. But the God who hears is greater. Let us pray and sing His praises this day.
ReplyDeleteLifting up Bev, and Mary Lou, and 'Nise, and Jan, and Angie (because I know you lurk a little here :) in prayer for healing, for family restoration, for more of His mercy, more of His grace in each of your lives. And thanking Him for your presence here in this place of refuge.
Tonight's the All Star game with spaghetti and watermelon. Can you guess that we're spending some one on one time with our grandson, Liam? It's been a sweet time of bonding and I'm a wee bit tired. I'm grateful for this time together before he gets too big to want to come to Mimi's!
Nailed, Annette! ;) I love you Pearls and I wish I could pick up and join you in reading again. I can do more than "wish." I can do it! The Holy Spirit convicted me as I just typed that. xoxo
ReplyDeleteSo often when I am awake in the wee hours of the morning, I pray for my Pearl Girls. Father, we all have need of You in our lives, more of You daily! Many of us need healing, wisdom, balm for hurting hearts, renewed committment, encouragment and we thank You in advance for meeting these needs. Thank you for listening to us (IKings 13:4), for grace and compassion (13:23). My family is waiting on the Lord for things that ONLY He can provide, we trust in His timing and provision.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your prayers. I am at the end of my rope in a lot of ways but the knot is tied at the end of that rope and I feel like I'm hanging off a cliff and I am hanging on to God and going with God and depending on Him to act. I really want to. But I need your prayers and am so grateful to you. So grateful! In the midst of my chaos, I feel such a sense of His Presence. I know it can only be God. Thank you, friends, for sharing life with me.
ReplyDeleteMary Lou, You'll never know how God shows up moment for me through you. My prayer for you tonight is a verse you shared with me that has stuck for a very long time. Psalm 3:3. May He be the Lifter of your head, tonight, and always.
ReplyDeleteAnnette, you've been such a dear friend that God has dropped in my lap out of the wind. Thank you for bringing God to me and others here. What stirs in you is beautiful. And I pray for you this day that the God Who is jealous for that spirit in you will fill you to overflowing and answer your requests lodged deep in your soul.
ReplyDeleteAng, you humbly step back in and offer a kindness, a gentleness, a touch we need. Praying for you tonight that the God you love will draw near to you. May He do more than we imagine. May you Hear Him whispering to you His Love, His Grace over you.
ReplyDeleteNise' - What a year it has been listening to your heart, so humble, so dependent, so real. Praying God's grace all over your trust, your leaning hard in the midst of all you face and embrace. May His Presence be so very real to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteJan, What beauty you bring from your depths. God is so at work in you for His Will, His Good Pleasure, and it shows. Praying for your mind to be filled with Wisdom from Above that flows right through your hands.
ReplyDeleteMichele, I know you're here as much as you can. Thank you dear friend for being so true and loyal to me over the years. You'll never know. Never know. Praying for your mother's heart to love your children well as you shoo them out the door for keeps in not too distant of a future. May God give you much pleasure in your relationships with them. You're a good mom and wife!
ReplyDeleteHollie, I know you read from time to time. Your love for God in the midst of all you carry is overwhelming and contagious and true. My prayer for you is Titus 1:1 for you are a servant of the Word for the faith of people and for the knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness. May God continue to use you, I pray, in all those lives you touch.
ReplyDeleteHi Bob! My faithful husband reads my little blog every day. He could be reading CS Lewis or Chesterton or Gruden's Systematic Theology. But he reads me. Kind of amazing to me. We've been through a lot together and still face a lot from health issues to who knows what. But, through it all, you have honored your God, Bob. Praying for you today, and every day, that He will increase and you will decrease, for His Glory, not for any fixed problem. Love you so much! Your Wife, Bev
ReplyDeleteThanks for your prayers! I pray for all of the pearls and the husbands. My husband, Mike, also reads the blog each day.
ReplyDeleteLOVE YOU!
I love this place!
ReplyDeleteHi Mike, So humbled to have you here. I know that God is drawing you and your wife near to Him. No better place to be. Your wife speaks with such tenderness kindness respect for you. My prayer for you this day is found in Zech 6:13 - He is building you to be the man of God He intends. Full of infallible truth and sovereign grace. Yes sir, He is your Builder. A Carpenter from Nazareth whom you love. So glad you join us here.
