What is the truth about the situation we are in? How did we get to that place? Are we taking matters into our own hands, cutting off ears. The LORD upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down ~ Psalm 145:14.
"The LORD is good to all. His Mercy is over all that He has made." Psalm 145:9. May His brand new spanking clean m.e.r.c.i.e.s. be all over you this day in whatever you face. Call to Him. The truth is that He has already been calling you.
One moment Peter raises his sword ready to die for Jesus and the next, he hears the rooster crow-he's denied His Lord before men.

When Jesus was before Pilate, He would not identify himself. When asked "Are you the king of the Jews?" he replied, "if you say so."
Today, as the mob of angry soldiers and priests and Pharisees approach, Jesus asks, "Whom do you seek?" They say, "Jesus of Nazareth" and Jesus replies "I AM He." At the sound of His speaking His great Name, they fall back to the ground.
Whom do I seek this morning? Am I angry that He doesn't show up in a way I think He would? Am I denying Him before men like Peter? Do I fall to my knees at the power of His Name?
He is there waiting to answer, speaking huge things into existence that are beyond my comprehension and wonder.
Thank you for highlighting Psalm 145:14, Bev. We all fall like Peter, and His mercy is new each morning. Blessed be His powerful Name!
I hear His lovingkindness in the morning. I trust in Him. Teach me the way I should walk. (Ps. 143:8)
ReplyDeleteThe Lord is gracious and merciful. Great in lovingkindness. His mercies are all over His works. He WILL sustain me when I fall, He will raise me up. The LORD is near all who call upon Him. My mouth will speak praise of the Lord. (Psalm 145:8,9, 14,21).
I am so like Peter. In trouble, distress, etc., I think I need to fight, strive, do something, when He wants me to be still and trust and wait.
