Gathered in no ordinary place, the disciples and company wait for God to move in the Presence of those who took the life of Jesus Christ. Boldness. One recalls the words of David: "I saw the LORD always before me, He is at my right hand that I may not be shaken" ~ Acts 2:25. Unbelievable. The betrayal of David by his royal father-in-law and his very own son strikes a note in each of us as we face our very own struggles. Somehow, David pushed through his murder, his adultery, his own jealousy and betrayal, to find God. None of the scenes of David's life took vacation from his mind. Every day he lived with the brokenness and betrayal. Every day he started with a blank slate and found his God. So much so, that scores of years later, they are still talking about this holy man with a flawed resume, whose flesh dwelled in Hope. And there is a Living Hope in that no ordinary room. Make us glad with Your Presence, as you did that day. Cut to the core, they asked Peter: "What shall we do?" Repent. This word is for you and for your children. Repent. And awe came upon every soul. May we never lose the awe. Prov 16:9 ~ The heart of a man plans his own way, but the LORD establishes his steps. Whether we have been murderers like David or betrayers like Peter, (and we all have in our hearts), may we see the LORD ever before us, this day and forward.
Open my eyes to the blessings that are mine because I trust in You. (Prov. 16:20) Help me to take my eyes off what is causing me to miss those blessings.
ReplyDeleteActs 2:43 - May I never lose that sense of awe for what You have done for me, what You are doing for me right now and what You will continue to do for me in the future. Thank you Lord!
