Num 14:24 and Mark 14:30 "White-Hot Courage" (March 14)

Do I know what faith or fear resides deep within my heart?  Do I recognize the words that come out of my mouth as coming from a good place or not?  Do the red flags fly when my thoughts dance down the corridor of discouragement?  When the tears fall way too easily.  Give us white-hot courage to face this moment, this day.

For before the rooster will crow twice, you and I will both deny Him, just like Peter did.  Peter didn't know what was in his own heart.  A few yards away, Peter's Master prayed alone in a garden for Jesus knew what stirred in His heart.  Mark 14:30. What do I think I see?  I feel terribly alone this day in what I face.

The words of Numbers 14:24 invite me to be like Caleb not Peter and have a different spirit, to follow my LORD fully.  Even when the reality of relationships seems like I am a grasshopper in the eyes of others. Numbers 13:33. When I lack the power to subdue my enemies.  What stirs deep in my heart?  Is the LORD with me in this?  Numbers 14:43.

  1. I am thanking God this morning with a heart full of gratitude. He has answered when I needed Him to. He reminded me that He is with me and will not forsake me. Even when my behavior, thoughts or words deny Him.

Tomorrow I face a big hurdle - having an MRI - and ask for your prayers.

Praying for you Bev that the loneliness you feel will be swallowed up by His presence and purpose.

Numbers 12:9 - The Lord is with us!

  2. Our own Good Friday approaches. We visit the Garden and hear Jesus ask us, Watch and pray. "Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Do I see the giants in the way, or do I see the Promised land of milk and honey? In faith or in fear, centering my focus? Where do I keep watch this day? Pray with me,

Lead us not in to temptation...deliver us from evil.

  3. Nise', praying for you good test results and healing. Much peace throughout and for His Hand to be upon you.

Praying and praising Him with Psalm 103 over you.

Bless the LORD, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits--who forgiveth all thine iniquities, who healeth all thy diseases, who redeemeth thy life from destruction, who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies, who satisfieth thy mouth with good things, so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.

  4. Nise' I have prayed for you. Have had more than my share of MRI's and they are no fun and I was having horrific head aches at the time. Know how you feel. May you feel His presence strongly while you are in the machine.

Bev, I stand in agreement with Nise' that the loneliness you feel will be swallowed up by His presence and purpose. IF I thought I could do it, I would come in a heart beat...but I know that truly He is the only One who can fill your loneliness.

We all deny Him and oh, how we need to be close followers and not follow Him and not be followers at a distance. Just heard a sermon on this and it was so convicting that I do not follow as closely as I should, I let fear overtake my faith and love for Him. We all have giants in our lives that we need to surrender to Him and let faith be the focus not the giants.
