Job 10:21 and Matt 9:2 "Land of Darkness & Deep Shadows" (January 12)

Jesus Christ saw faith and healed hearts then bodies.  The health of our soul always trumps the health of our bodies.  "Take heart, your sins are forgiven." (Matt 9:2)  Take heart Job and Bev and every blogger here.  He came to call sinners.  That's us.  What beautiful faith in Job pushing through his suffering.  Even his friend alludes that Job has small beginnings (whoever called thousands of sheep and donkeys and ten children SMALL?) and his latter days would be great.  Prophetic.  Meaningless to Job at the moment.  Job has not forgotten about God.  His flesh just doesn't want to face all that suffering.  I can't wrap my brain around losing all ten of my children on the same day.  Job says in 9:28 that he has become afraid of his suffering.  Wouldn't he be tempted with---what next?  It is a "land of darkness and deep shadows" for Job.  Even though he knows so much about God, Job recognizes that God passes him by and Job sees him not (Job 9:11).  And the same for me.  May we not miss you, Our Good God, passing us by this day in our suffering be it great or small.

  1. Please pray for me. I am over over overwhelmed with work. I'm up grading papers and it's way too late. Had a bad accident last night (wrote about it yesterday). God doesn't want me to live this way so something has to go and I'm not sure what. Deeply appreciate your prayers. Going to bed with so much left undone. God interrupts every one of us to force us to rest every night of our life. Rest not rush through it. Love you guys!

  2. Help me to see You as You pass by..Open my heart, my eyes, my ears that I may perceive You. (Job 9)

I am thankful that when I feel like I am being poured out like milk and curdled like cheese, He is the lifter of my head. (10:10)

He calls, He forgives -I follow. NO matter what comes...keep following Him. (Matt. 9)

Bev, I am sorry about your accident, I pray you rested and are restored quickly!

  3. "Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” Matthew 9:13

Praying for you, Bev, to heal, to rest. He does call us to rest. Healing the heart trumps healing the body for Jesus, it seems, in today's Scriptures, but He cares about our physical healing, too. He is in the middle of this, too, Bev. Safe travels this evening, and freedom from pain.

    Love you all.

  4. Bev, did not see your post last night, was on FB checking with a friend whose mother is a friend. The mother had been hit by a deer sent airborne into her windshield. Sylvia is alive and at home this morning. Her face took the brunt of the hit...glass in her eyes, nose and ears. Can't open her eyes because of the glass in her eyes..please pray for her as led. She truly had a guardian angel watching over her....the pictures show how freak of an accident it was. None of us want to suffer....anything...we are such wimps. YET, God calls us to go through different kinds of sufferings. He is faithful to always be right there with us.....he does not cause all things, but I do believe that things are allowed to happen to us and are used by Him to sharpen us ad wake us up etc. I too, can not fathom losing all of my children at once....losing the children would be so much harder than losing all of your wealth. You would be tempted to say.."Okay, God what next?" How could you not....your flesh would not want any more pain of any kind.

May we never miss Him in any day of our lives. May we always be on the look out for Him working and moving in what ever happens daily. He truly can and does use others and situations to speak to us loudly or softly. May we all ask Him to open our eyes and hearts to Him and show us what we need in order to live this day.
Bev, praying that you feel well enough to go tonight to pick up Britt. Have prayed for him. Take a pillow to sit on...perhaps that would help. Praying for you as you teach today......rest in His unchanging grace and His beautiful mercies that are fresh and anew each and every morning. Sufficient for the day. Love to all who read....
