Gen 24:50 and Matt 17:21 "This Thing" (January 26)

Wondering if Abraham & Sarah ever met Job face-to-face?  They knew about Job because Abraham's brother Nahor was Job's great grandfather.Meanwhile, Abraham is advanced in years and Sarah dies in the land of Canaan, on the far side of where Job lived in Canaan.  Did Job know?  Did he come to his relatives?  Did the family news spread through Canaan? Abraham ~ Come to the funeral of Job's 10 children.  And just what would Abraham say to Job?  Abraham, "whom the LORD blessed in all things."  Honestly, I think Job was the one who was blessed.  Job---with his hand over his mouth---became more alive than most people I know.

Genesis 24:50 "This thing is from the LORD..."
Matthew 17:21 "If you have faith like a grain of mustard seed,
you will say to THIS mountain, 'Move from here to there,'
and it will move."

This thing, this mountain in your life, God will lower it ~ Isa 40:4
not to bless you on this Earth, dear one.
but to bless you for all Eternity
and bring Glory to God!
This thing is bigger than this moment.
A Grand Story of the Love of our God.

  1. I need some comfort (Gen. 24:67) in the form of prayers today. I've been having increased symptoms of the head, neck and shoulder issues that I've had for years in the form of vertigo. It is scary. I see the Dr. this morning and just want it to go away. I want faith like a grain of mustard seed, not only in this circumstance, but all. the. time!
This is a mountain in my life right now. Coming so soon after the one right before it, He was faithful then, He can't be anything but faithful now.

I may be absent for a few days as sitting in front of the computer aggrivates my issues.

  2. Father, I come to You on behalf of our sister, Nise' and ask that you meet her at her point of great need. She is looking to you for the answer to her pain, just as she looked to You when she was at the previous mountain. I pray that You will be the glory about her and the lifter of her head. You are faithful!!! I know you are and so does she! Grant her request of more faith. Touch her body and heal her from her pain.

He is faithful, even when we are not faithful. That is such a wonderful truth to cling to day after day. I agree Bev, Job was the blessed one, because of all of his suffering and not cursing God he became ALIVE....far more than most of us. What a beautiful example is Job of faith. How we need to get our eyes off of being blesses while we are here on earth and focus on being blessed for all eternity. Such a hard thing to do with our human eyes and hearts and minds. What a blessing just following Him.

  3. Joining Mary Lou in prayer for you, Nise. Take time to get well and know He has your back. Vertigo is an awful feeling. Try to lie still and take care of yourself.

  5. Dear Nise,
Add my prayers to the Pearls for your vertigo. A few years ago I suffered from vertigo and it is very scary. I learned to move my head carefully, not look up too far or look down too quickly. It rarely bothers me now. I will pray for calm thoughts and peace of mind for you as you battle this affliction. Stay strong!

  6. Asking the Lord to heal your vertigo, Nise'.

Father in heaven, comfort Nise'. There is a scary need in her life that she comes boldly to Your throne for healing. Be her healer, Lord. I pray for the doctor as he advises her and seeks to heal her. Let Your hand be on this need and give her body healing. Bind the disease or weakness that causes her this pain. Loose Your healing Spirit in her body, healing her and comforting her. I thank You for hearing my prayer and working this out. Would You please, Lord, wrap her in Your arms and love on her today. Just smile over her and light up her world with Your love poured out over her. In Jesus Name. Amen.

  7. 63 And Isaac went out to meditate in the field toward evening. And he lifted up his eyes and saw, and behold, there were camels coming. 64 And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she dismounted from the camel 65 and said to the servant, “Who is that man, walking in the field to meet us?” The servant said, “It is my master.” So she took her veil and covered herself. 66 And the servant told Isaac all the things that he had done. 67 Then Isaac brought her into the tent of Sarah his mother and took Rebekah, and she became his wife, and he loved her.

Father in heaven, let me remember to meditate and seek You. I love how Isaac missed his mother. I love how he went into the field and meditated. And I love how You brought him Rebekah to comfort him in his grief. I need You to go before me, Lord, preparing my way, providing my needs. Let me find quiet times to enter into Your arms and seek peace. You are waiting. In Jesus Name. Amen.
