READ THE BIBLE CHRONOLOGICALLY IN 2012

We invite you to Read Through the Bible chronologically with us in 2012.  Every day, we will offer a 15-minute ESV selection from the Old Testament and the New Testament and ask you to ponder what lingers with you as your read God's Word. You may choose your own version but we will read chronologically from the OT and NT simultaneously. Each day, you will have an opportunity to comment on one thing that lingers, that stirs inside of you as you read chronologically.  And you may comment on other's comments too (a new feature for us---if I can figure that one out).  Irenaeus wrote:  "The Glory of God is man fully alive."  We are asking God to awaken our hearts in 2012 to His Whispers, His Words.  May we wrestle well with The Living Word and become more alive in Him than ever before.  Sign up right here on this post if you would like to join a few beautiful yet broken friends longing for a better place than where we are.  Longing to draw near to a very Good God.  We would so love for you to make a commitment and join us.  Leave a comment ...

  1. You can count me in again this year. Bev. I am confused as to how we are going to read both OT and NT at the same time, chronologically I've read it through chronologically and studied it that way, but started with OT and then went to NT. Studied it in 14 different eras. This is intriguing that the two can be read at the same time chronologically.

After the last four or five days, I am sitting at the foot of the cross wondering, where or where do I fit into the grand scheme of things and how has and does and will my little life make any kind of impact on this world and the lives of my family. I can see that I am going to be on my face far more than ever before, seeking His face and hands on the lives of my adult children and their children. Before them, I will be seeking Him for me and my husband. His Word is powerful and a two edged sword and He truly came to divide. To divide us away from our sinful natures and hearts and draw us to what He says and He alone says.

I pray that some of you, who have just read and not dared comment will take heart and leave comments and join with us as we grow in Him.

  2. Bev, I am so thankful for your willingness and dedication to see us through another year!

Oh I am so looking forward to this I loved reading the Biblical chronologically before and to spend more time in the new testament too will be a delight.

I haven't been able to find a reading plan for OT/NT chronologically yet.
Can't wait for a New Year and fresh start!
    Love, Annette

  3. Mary Lou, i so relate to your heart's prayers and to our need to constantly seek Him. He is faithful and sees us through so many things.

And, I join you in praying for those on the board to chime in here and just encourage Bev that they are here and reading along, or leave a prayer request, or just say hi more regularly. We each have different amounts of time but it is the sweetest part of my day to stop by here and get a Word each day! Much blessing in 2012,pearls!

  5. The reading plan to read the OT/NT chronologically simultaneously can be found at: www.bibleplan.org

You can sign up right there to have the selections e-mailed to you in any version. I chose the ESV for 2012.

We'll see if we can put the link up on this blog. Also, trying to add additional comments feature. May have to change to wordpress. Will be back with more info. Let me know if you can help me do this.
