If Christ suffered through temptation,
do we expect not to suffer?
Hebrews 2:18
"Because He Himself has suffered when tempted,
He is able to help those who are being tempted."
Hebrews 2:1 ~ "Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it for 2:4 says that God bears witness through the gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will. Today, if you hear His Voice, pay close attention.
For once a hymn did come to mind, I have envied people who can always come up with a hymn to fit a situation. One came to me that fits this scripture....we need to pay much closer attention to what we have heard(are hearing,lest we drift from it...Lord, here's my heart, take and seal it. Lord, prone to wander, Lord I. feel it, prone to leave the God I love.
ReplyDeleteI used to think that this didn't really apply to me, not too long ago, He brought it to my attention that it did apply to me. We are all prone to wander and leave Him for short periods of time. We don't mean to and don't want to, but we do. When we are tempted to do this, He does bring us back to Him. It's ALL grace, ALL the time.
