I Tim 4:8 ~ Train yourself for godliness....it holds such promise for this present life and the one to come. Not for the solution to all our problems. This present moment. It's really all I have. Am I living in the present? Satan wants us to live in the past or in the future and will do anything to get us away from dealing with this present moment.
I Tim 4:15 ~ Immerse yourself in God's teachings. Keep a close watch on yourself. Take care of your own business and leave your friends and family in God's Hands.
Let us "set an example." Thank you for the reminder to mind my own business and leave some people (I want to fix) in God's hands. It sounds so simple but can be so hard!

Good insight, Ang. It makes me think of when a family member tried to "fix" me. It was so painful. God is the great healer.

ReplyDeleteIt's so sweet to read Paul's advice to Timothy as a father to a son. Such wisdom we have in these words to present ourselves to others and to ourselves as an example of Christian living and as a messenger of Christ. My mom used to say "Actions speak louder than words" and I would add, "and mature actions are much harder to come by than cheap words, or words without the proof. I am thankful this morning for the forgiveness that we have when we don't measure up. But this does not prevent us from upholding the Name, with Jesus's help. Lord, see us to maturity in You!
