Eph 6:12 "Having Done All, Simply Stand Firm" (October 4)

Ephesians 6:12 ~ For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.

It is daunting to know that there are cosmic powers over this present darkness.  I wouldn't expect to fight that on my own, would I?  If God doesn't take care of us, we are defeated.  God is calling us to stand up, take up the whole armor, not just a piece of it.  Stand to withstand, and after you have done everything in the world that you know to do---ALL---just keep standing firm.

Sometimes all we can do is to stand firm.

  1. Standing firm in faith is a pro-active stance. We do not need to feel defeated. He will fight our battles for us--
2 Chr 20:15 This is what the Lord says to you: 'Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's.

Exo 14:14 The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still."

Deu 1:30 The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes,

Deu 3:22 Do not be afraid of them; the Lord your God himself will fight for you."

Deu 20:4 For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory."

This is my "Whew" moment, like Deborah said yesterday! Standing firm is our job. And He equips us to do so. Let the shield of faith fight the fiery darts of the enemy. Guard your thought life, your mental health with the helmet of His salvation. Fasten the belt of Truth to gird (encircle) your life. Fasten the breastplate of His Blood covering Righteousness over your vulnerable heart. Shoe your feet in the Gospel of Peace. The battle is His. The Victory and the Glory is His alone. Thanks be to God.

  2. I had just typed up some thoughts only to lose it before I could save it.

So Yes, the Armor of God and Stand Firm. Remembering Someone is praying for you and me today to Stand Firm as we remember that Trust Triumps Trouble every day because it is all about Jesus and His Glory through each of our lives.

This is a Song I must sing, Sylvia

  3. "23 Peace be to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 24 Grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with love incorruptible."

Today's verses about the Lord's Armor have been prayed and spoken by me day after day, night after night through my stand for my marriage. It is amazing how much power these verses hold when we pray them. I am a walking testimony of God's unbelievable GRACE.

I agree with you, Sylvia, about God's Grace. We couldn't make it without it working constantly in our lives.

Today, I just loved that these verses today ended with a blessing.
Read these words out loud and pray them for all of us today. I thank Him today for His Word that gives us victory and comfort.

Father, I pray these verses for

Sylvia - you have such courage and trust and you do stand tall in midst of it all
