Problems existed in the church in Thessalonica. Idleness. Lack of Faith. Weariness in well doing.
Pray that the Word speed ahead and be honored, however, just like it did in Thessalonica. 2 Thes 3:1
The LORD is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the Evil One. May God direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ. 2 Thes 3:5.
May the LORD of peace Himself give you peace at all times in every way. 2 Thes 3:16.

ReplyDeleteTwo passages keep coming to my mind. I meditate on them as we are starting a new life, looking for God's direction as Mike looks for a new career. I am seeking His direction with all my heart. I want to be used by Him in ways I have never been before. God is so near, so precious. I never want to get away from this closeness I feel today.
Jeremiah 1:5
"Before I shaped you in the womb,
I knew all about you.
Before you saw the light of day,
I had holy plans for you:
A prophet to the nations—
that's what I had in mind for you."
Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."

He is the Lord of peace. He is the one Who can give such a covering. May it be so in our lives, in our hearts that His peace reigns. Amen.

Just pondering ministers today who are preaching the Word and receiving little encouragement. Bev, Bob comes to my heart when I read Paul's plea for the community of believers to pray for him.
And then I think about so many others...Billy Graham, Franklin Graham, Larry Crabb, Louie Giglio...and so many missionaries in this world gone W.I.L.D.
Mary Lou, we all need to be a living testimony of the Lord's Peace during these turbulent times. Thank you for the prayer. Jan, those verses reassure me today and also give me peace about your situation. God is good no matter what we are going through. He walks with us through every mountain and valley.
May God give us all words to encourage those who are growing weary. And may we each stay active in serving our Lord.
