II Cor 1:8-9 They were so utterly burdened beyond their strength in Asia that they despaired of life itself. They felt that they had received the sentence of death. But no, that was to make them rely not on themselves but on God who raises the dead.
Relying on God not a report that says "probably benign."
Oh, to not rely on ourselves but on God who raises from the dead. The God who allows suffering in our lives so that we might share in the sufferings of others. He also comforts us in the suffering, which we are then able to share with those who suffer. What a beautiful plan He has and how wonderful it works.
ReplyDeleteOh, to learn the lessons that show me how to rely on Him and not a report from a doctor, to rely on Him and not my own words and thoughts in assessing a situation that needs Him at the core.I am now aware after your comment Bev, that you were relying on God and not a report from a doctor that in the past few days I've been relying on words and truths and not totally in Him. I was not meant to carry the burdens that I sometimes pick up, I am to rely on Him to work all things out for His good. My job is not to fret or get twisted in knots because it appears there are two steps backward for every one step forward. I pray that from this point forward I will rely on Him and nothing else.
Praising God for good reports and for His presence in absence of good reports. Sweet Sally has been told the scan of her brain was clear, the next MRI will be of her from the neck down and she is praying they will say she is cancer free from the neck down. The headaches have subsided and she is gaining her strength back. Her reconstructive surgery is scheduled for the end of the month. You can read her good report if you so desire on Caring Bridge....sallycleek....is how you type her name in. Love to all of you.
2 Corinthians 1:22"Whatever God has promised gets stamped with the Yes of Jesus. In him, this is what we preach and pray, the great Amen, God's Yes and our Yes together, gloriously evident. God affirms us, making us a sure thing in Christ, putting his Yes within us. By his Spirit he has stamped us with his eternal pledge—a sure beginning of what he is destined to complete." (The Message)
ReplyDeleteYes, to Jesus! So thrilled about Sally's progress, Mary Lou.
No hand-wringing here at my house.
ReplyDeleteI'm relying on God, too.
Standing firm.
Encouraging others.
He is the God of All Comfort.
Bev, you continue to amaze me. God is so evident in your life.
What blessing to know when no one else seems to be there...God always is. Yes, He is there with his power to carry each of through our difficult days.
ReplyDeleteToday has been a good day and yet the wildfires in Texas are making a difference in my life today. The air quality and my allergies do not mix well. I am so thankful that I was able to make the choice to stay inside and stay healthy. However, I am aware of friends in Waller and Mountgomery County who have had to evacuate their homes since Monday. Please pray for rain and God to allow the fires to cease.
Isaiah 30:21 Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying , "This is the way; walk in it." I praise Elohim, The God who among other attibutes can Raise the Dead and can put out wildfires too.
This is a Song I Must Sing, Sylvia
Good news. He lifts our heads. He raises the dead. He is our One to count on, nothing short of the One who carries and comforts, heals and holds. He is so worthy of our praise!
ReplyDeleteCounting on Him in so many ways this weekend as we start back up the weddings for fall.
Love and prayers, A
So encouraged by all of you. You are written letters of Him.
ReplyDeleteJan, I love your take---two steps forward and one backward---but that is falling forward.
